Bloomsday Sunday at CTR -

Some 50,000 Bloomies ran by today and several stopped for a hot dog, gatorade and bag of chips. It was great to see CTR folk hand out flyers, water bottles with schedules and invitation to Christianity explored, Tots and Co, Kidz club, etc.....

A great event to extend a bit of outreach to so many folks in the greater Spokane region.

Just a few weeks ago, Loren Baker shared his testimony about receiving a pink flyer during Bloomsday and it was the event on the flyer, which he attended, where God met him - that is the essence of the vision behind Bloomsday Sunday - hopes that one of these folks will take a flyer and God will meet them with His tranforming Gospel.

Mark 12:18-44 - 'Having it All' - Pastor Brian Hoch

The greatest commandment

29 "The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. [e] 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' [f] 31 The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' [g] There is no commandment greater than these."

Jesus finds the significant in the insignificant...

41 Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42 But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a fraction of a penny.
43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, "Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44 They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on."
